Pedro Ramos is 27 years young and likes walking barefoot.
MOSSLESS: When you’re out shooting, do you have a specific image in mind or do you simply photograph what ever catches your eye?
PEDRO RAMOS: I don’t carry a camera at all times. When I decide to do that I either shoot something that I’m drawn to, or something I think it could relate to any projects I’m working on at that specific time.
ML: There seems to be a lot of reference to animals in your work. Are you an animal lover?
PR: I really like animals but I’m not that interested in taking their photos though. It’s funny that you got that perception from looking at some of my work.
ML: Are there any areas captured in your photo’s that hold fond memories or some type of personal attachment?
PR: Even though I’m not the subject matter of my photographs, it is pretty easy to recollect memories back from the time they were taken. It’s amazing how it helps you recall those days, the places you were in, the people you were with, the things you did, etc.
ML: A lot of your photos have a great sense of childhood about them. Would you say you’re still a big kid at heart?
PR: I’m interested in youth and the freedom and carelessness that comes with it. I definitely don’t feel like an adult yet. I strive to keep a young spirit.
